Roar into Aromas
The Prunedale Lions Club sold watermelon slices and whole
watermelons on Aromas Day. The Club started out the day with
160 watermelons donated by Freeman Lumber and Mail Boxes Etc.
By 3:30 p.m. only a couple of watermelons were left unclaimed.
Straw Hat Pizza provided hot pizzas to the work crew. Lion
President John Smith and wife Jo led the volunteers which
included Wayne Freeman and wife Pam, Scott Freeman and wife
Carrie, Darryl Hilton, and Jerry Jerome. This was not a hap-hazard
attempt to sell watermelons this was a professional setup.
Scott Freeman designed two gigs made out of wood that was
used to cut the watermelon precisely and efficiently each
and every time.

Move to New Meeting Place
The Prunedale Lions Club had met in the same location since
its formation. Busters previously known as R&O closed
on Monday 8/19. The Lions held its first meeting on 8/22 at
the Prunedale Straw Hat Pizza Parlor at 7:00 am. This was
an unscale move and the club is very happy with its new surroundings.
The Club was not given notice of the closure, members found
out through the grape vine.

Lions support Aromas Eagle Scout.
The Prunedale Lions voted unanimously today to provide
$100 for the Eagle Scout Project in Aromas. The project is
to build book shelves for the Aromas Library. Wayne Freeman
of Freeman Lumber will also support this project with a contribution
of $50 and a discount on materials. Wayne Freeman, a Prunedale
Lion himself, brought the matter before the board. The President
of the Prunedale Lions will be in Aromas for Aromas Day and
will present a check to the Eagle Scout in a brief ceremony.
