4-Hers fixate fans at Presentation
Day
"I went to Presentation and watched Jay Smith's illustrated
talk about making a bow and arrow," exclaimed John Palmer
"it was great, I cant wait until next year." March
8th, Presentation Day is a time for 4-Hers to come and strut
their there stuff in a presentation about whatever they want,
every thing from recipes for macaroni and cheese to soap collections.
What presentation day would be complete with out a awards
ceremony. Although the 4-Hers are not competing against each
other (meaning there is no 1 winner) there are awards given
out, blue seal, gold seal and gold medal.
La Gloria elementary school was the host of this years Presentation
Day. Aromas 4-Hers were not a major contributor with 3 presenters,
2 junior judges and 3 adult judges but its quality not quantity.
Jay Smith had an excellent illustrated talk about making bows
and arrows, as boring as it sounds, Jay made every one want
to go out, cut down tree and make a bow and some arrows. But
Jay was not alone in the presenting, his sister, Lilly did
a presentation about corn. The public speaking skills must
be genetic because Lilly told everyone everything they would
ever want to know about corn and kept them awake too. Aromas'
3rd presenter was Maia Guerrero and her illustrated talk about
folk art, and hers was good enough to to snagged one of those
elusive gold metal.
A-town came to Presentation Day with their A game, Jay,
Lilly and Maia all received gold, not easy to do.
